A. Call to Order

12:30 p.m.

Members Present: Penny Vadla, Debbie Cary, Zen Kelly, Jason Tauriainen

C. Approval of Notes Jan. 28, 2019

The notes from the Jan. 28, 2019 meeting were approved as printed.
D. Interview format and length

The interviews will be one hour each. To begin, the candidates will have 4 prompts and be given 20 minutes to address the questions in those prompts. They may answer in any order as long as everything asked is addressed. Next, each candidate will be asked 8-9 direct questions. One board member will ask the questions for all interviewees. Finally, the candidate will have the opportunity for any further comments.

E. Remote Audience Participation

The committee accepted the suggested audience input form. Remote attendance to the interviews will be available at Homer Middle School and Seward Elementary. The schools' principals will facilitate the process, collect the audience input forms and email them to Mrs. Tressler. Anyone wishing to complete an input form must be physically present for the entire interview of the candidate they evaluate. The completed forms from all 3 locations will be compiled and made available to the board for their decision-making process.

The community input survey closes March 4. The board will soon have access to the results.

F. Interview questions

On March 5, Mrs. Tressler will email to the board the questions from the past two superintendent interviews. The board members will be asked to email back 2-3 suggested interview questions by March 15 at 4:30 p.m. The questions can be from the previous interviews or something new. Mrs. Vadla and Ms. Cary will meet on March 18 to select the final interview questions. The goal is to assure that all board member suggestions are used or represented in the final version.

G. Confidential Candidate Application Portal

Mr. O'Brien will work with AASB to determine the date that the board will have access to the applicant portal. With this portal, board members can review the applicants and their information in preparation for finalist selection.

H. Further Reference Check Process

Once the finalists are selected on March 21, Mrs. Vadla and Mr. Kelly will meet on March 25 and 26, to conduct the final reference checks.
Interviews will be held on April 4 in the Betty J. Glick Assembly Chambers. The time will set based on the number of candidates.
