A. Call to Order

Ms. Truesdell called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m.

B. Roll Call

Present: Patti Truesdell, Tim Daugharty, Cody McCanna, John Devolld(zoom), Dawn Grimm, Tod Hindman(zoom), Clayton Holland, Kari Dendurent, Liz Hayes, Amy Hagen(zoom)

Absent: Matt Morse, Eric Waltenbaugh, Austin Stevenson

C. Approval of Notes 10-5-2020

The notes from the October 5, 2020 meeting were approved as printed.

D. KPBSD Charter School Oversight Committee Procedures Discussion

Charter School Oversight Committee meeting requirements: Set meeting dates. Annual Review-Alaska statute and Board Policy.
Board member Role: When there is an issue with the APC not following the bylaws or state statute. If out of compliance with bylaws, board members will work with them to getting them back on track.
Charter School By-Laws: All bylaws for the four charters are on the school websites. Kaleidoscope submitted a copy to Chair Truesdell. Timing issues with administrator evaluations. Move to the October meeting agenda.
The day that a parent of a student unenrolls their child is the day that they are no longer a member of the APC. Do we need to add language in the AR's and BP's.
Funding and employment are pieces of how special services are delivered in charter schools? Subs are hit or miss in the Homer area.

Annual Review is usually after the lotteries in March.
Annually scheduled meetings. A possible exhibit in board policy for the annual report. Ms. Dendurent will work with the charter schools to come up with the exhibit.

Currently no new applications for charter schools.
Next Meeting: After October 1st yearly to consider new charter school applications.

Bylaws of all schools are updated and are posted on their websites.
