A. Call to Order

Mr. Morse called the meeting to order at 11:36 a.m.

B. Roll Call

Members Present: Matt Morse chaired the meeting, Tim Daugharty, Kari Dendurent, Assistant Superintendent, John DeVolld, Administrator, Soldotna Montessori, Cody McCanna, Administrator, Aurora Borealis, , Administrator, Soldotna Elementary, Dawn Grimm, Administrator, Kaleidoscope, Liz Hayes, Executive Director of Finance, Kyle Darbonne, Administrator, Fireweed Academy (joined the meeting virtually at 11:48 a.m.), Patti Truesdell (joined the meeting at 12:01 p.m.)
Members Absent: Eric Waltenbaugh, Administrator, West Homer Elementary, Austin Stevenson, Administrator, Soldotna Elementary

Board Members Present: Ms. Cary, Ms. Vadla

C. Approval of Agenda

The October 2, 2023 agenda was approved as presented.

D. Approval of Notes 11-21-2022

The Charter School Oversight committee meeting notes from November 21, 2022 were approved as printed.

2. New Business

A. Annual Review

Mr. McCanna, Ms. Grimm, Mr. Devolld, and Mr. Darbonne, principals of the four charter schools within the District, provided information and an annual report of the 2022-2023 school year to the committee.
Ms. Cary posed questions regarding the impacts of implementing the Alaska Reads Act in each of the Charter Schools, as well as, art and music programs in the individual schools.
Mr. McCanna spoke to this for Aurora Borealis Charter School.
Mr. Devolld spoke to this for Soldotna Montessori Charter School.
Ms. Grimm spoke to this for Kaleidoscope Charter School.
Mr. Darbonne spoke to this for Fireweed Charter School.
