A. Call to Order

Ms. Vadla called the meeting to order at 10:35 a.m.

B. Roll Call

Members Present: Penny Vadla, Tim Daugharty, Jason Tauriainen, Patti Truesdell (attended virtually)
Members Absent: Feodora Afonin Student Representative
Other Members Present: Zen Kelly, Sarah Douthit, Miss Emerson Kapp, student representative, Dianne Macrae, Kelley Cizek, Virginia Morgan

C. Approval of Agenda

The March 3, 2025 Information committee meeting agenda was approved as presented.

D. Approval of Notes 02-03-2025

The February 3, 2025 Information committee meeting notes were approved as presented.

2. Information New Business

A. Legislative Fly-In Discussion

Ms. Vadla, Ms. Douthit and Miss Kapp all who attended the AASB Legislative Fly-In spoke to their experiences. Ms. Vadla spoke to how many legislators the group met with and spoke to the information that was provided to the legislators. Ms. Douthit provided her experience and noted that the group was well received in Juneau and represented the district well. Miss Kapp spoke to her experience as the student representative that attended the Juneau Legislative fly-in. She noted several highlights and appreciated the opportunity to attend. She noted that many legislators valued student voice and perspective. Ms. Vadla noted the importance of advocating to the state legislature in support of education funding. Mr. Kelly asked who of the Kenai Delegation the group met with. Ms. Vadla spoke to this.
Mr. Kelly appreciated those who attended the fly-in. Mr. Tauriainen proposed the Board put forward a resolution supporting a BSA increase.
