1. Opening Activities

A. Call to Order

Vice President Tauriainen called the meeting to order at 10:32 a.m.

B. Pledge of Allegiance/National Anthem/Alaska Flag Song

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

C. Oath of Office

Newly elected Board members from District 1, District 6, and District 9 were sworn in by Board Administrative Assistant Sipes.
Ms. Patti Truesdell was sworn in for District 1, Ms. Mica VanBuskirk for District 6, and Ms. Ash-Lee Waddell for District 9.

D. District Mission Statement

Vice President Tauriainen read the district mission statement.

A quorum was established.
Others present:

F. Approval of Agenda

Motion: Move to approve the October 20, 2025 Special Meeting agenda as presented.

Motion by Sarah Douthit, second by Kelley Cizek.

Final Resolution: Motion Carried

Yes: Kelley Cizek, Tim Daugharty, Sarah Douthit, Dianne MacRae, Jason Tauriainen, Patti Truesdell, Mica VanBuskirk, Ash-Lee Waddell

Not Present at Vote: Penny Vadla

G. Reorganization of the Board

Vice President Tauriainen called for the organization of the Board.
Vice President Tauriainen opened up nominations for President.
Mr. Tauriainen was nominated by Mr. Daugharty for President.
Mr. Tauriainen accepted the nomination of President.
Seeing that there were no other accepted nominations Mr. Tauriainen was elected President.
President Tauriainen opened up nominations for Vice President.
Ms. Truesdell nominated Mr. Daugharty for Vice President.
Mr. Daugharty accepted the nomination for Vice President.
Seeing that there were no other accepted nominations Mr. Daugharty was elected Vice President.

President Tuariainen opened up nominations for Clerk.
Vice President Daugharty nominated for Ms. Douthit for Clerk.
Ms. Douthit accepted the nomination of Clerk.
Ms. MacRae nominated Ms. Cizek for Clerk.

Ms. Cizek accepted the nomination of Clerk.

President Tauriainen called for a secret ballot.

Board Administrative Assistant Sipes dispersed and collected the ballots and announced that 9 votes were cast in total. 6 votes were cast for Ms. Douthit and 3 votes were cast for Ms. Cizek.

With the majority votes President Tauriainen announced that Ms. Douthit was nominated as Clerk.
President Tauriainen opened up nominations for Treasurer.
Ms. Truesdell nominated Ms. Vadla for Treasurer.
Ms. Vadla accepted the nomination for Treasurer.
Seeing that there were no other accepted nominations Ms. Vadla was elected Treasurer.
President Tauriainen declared the Board organized.

2. Executive Session

A. Executive Session-Negotiations

Motion: Move the board go into executive session to discuss matters, the immediate knowledge of which would clearly have an adverse effect upon the finances of the district. Specifically, the session is held to discuss employee contract negotiations.

Motion by Kelley Cizek, second by Penny Vadla.

Final Resolution: Motion Carried

B. Adjourn Executive Session

Motion: Move to adjourn the executive session.

Motion by Kelley Cizek, second by Tim Daugharty.

Final Resolution: Motion Carried
