Attached you will find the 2019-20 Association of Alaska School Boards (AASB) Resolutions information. The committee will discuss possible, additional resolutions for the board to submit to AASB.
2020 State and Federal Legislative Priorities
The following suggested 2020 State and Federal Legislative Priorities are presented.
State Priorities:
Support of Public Education
Timely, sustainable, adequate education funding plan that addresses inflation
Safe Schools, Positive School Climate, & Social and Emotional Learning
Health Care Costs
Federal Priorities:
Public Education Advocacy
Safe Schools
Fully Fund Federal Title Programs
The priorities are presented here for committee review and will be presented for action at the October 7, 2019, meeting.
The board will also discuss these two items during a work session later in the day.
