Background Information:
For personal reasons, the candidate elected on October 1, 2019, to fill the District 6 East Peninsula school board seat did not take the oath of office.
This invoked the 30-day time frame for filling the vacancy as per BB 9223 Filling Board Vacancies and Kenai Peninsula Borough Code 1.20.110 – School Board-Vacancies.
The vacancy was advertised through the district website and social media, at the district office, and through other local media with the application period of Nov. 14 through Nov. 22, 2019, at 3:00 p.m.
All eligible applicants will be interviewed. If appointed, the person will fill the District 6 East Peninsula position until the next regular municipal election in October 2020.
Candidate information will be posted as soon as possible after the application deadline closes.
