Background Information:
Work will continue on the Association of Alaska School Boards (AASB) recommended policies which relate to protecting children from inappropriate conduct by adults, including school staff and volunteers. AASB states that the purpose of these additions is to provide all staff, students, volunteers and community members with information about their role in protecting children.
The Board Policy Review Committee reviewed these on Dec. 9, forwarded them to the work session with a recommendation for approval.
At the Jan. 13, 2020, work session, these policies were returned to the Policy Review Committee for additional work.
Feb. 3, 2020, postponed due to lack of time.
Mar. 2, 2020, the committee began work on the BP. See attached.
