Background Information:
This Policy is the first in a series of policies which address the Title IX regulations mandated by the Department of Education. This policy addresses adult on student behaviors in accordance with Title IX and focuses solely on policy violations rather than criminal behaviors so that enforcement is more realistic. The policy was reviewed by a national expert in child sexual abuse.
At the October 6, meeting, the committee was introduced to BP 4119.15 Sexual Misconduct. Ms. Patty Burley introduced the policy and asked for input from the committee at the next scheduled meeting.
At the November 2, meeting, the committee reviewed the policy and made suggested changes.
The board reviewed the draft policy BP 4119.15 at the work session on December 7, 2020.
On January 11, 2021 BP 4119.15 was presented for a first reading
It is presented here tonight for a final reading and approval.
