AS 14.11.011(4)(A) (ii) requires that a district has a preventive maintenance plan that addresses energy management for buildings owned or operated by the District.  While the District has a plan it is not currently backed by school board policy, as part of our facilities grant scoring, referencing board policy for the energy program may increase the District’s scoring on future grant applications.  The District has been reducing energy consumption, monitoring energy consumption, regularly inspecting district facilities, encouraging the employees and students to conserve resources.  This policy will not impact operations as the tasks are currently being conducted.

It was reviewed by the Board Policy Committee and at a work session on 3-14-2022 and presented for a first reading on March 14, 2022.  BP 3511 Energy Conservation is presented for second reading and approval.
