Revenue Budget
The FY25 20-day count ended October 25, 2024, and the Average Daily Membership (ADM) information was due to the state on November 5, 2024. The FY25 ADM, which determines the level of state funding for this year, was reported to be 8,266.53 students, which was 36.53 students higher than the 8,230 students projected for FY25. The count included 7,148.53 students in brick-and-mortar schools and 1,118.00 students enrolled in the Connections home school program. The original enrollment projection also included 195 intensive needs students. The number of intensive needs students submitted to the state was 221, an increase of 26. This preliminary ADM will likely change because of the reconciliation process with other districts and the final ADM will be confirmed by the state in February or March.
The total adjustment to the State of Alaska revenue is an increase of $2,179,572 which includes an increase of $1,952,913 in foundation funding, a change in the Quality Schools in the amount of $5,243, and an increase of $221,416 in one-time funding.
The total revised revenue budget is $151,510,112.
Expenditure Budget
The district reviews actual employees hired in each position to adjust salary and benefit accounts from estimates made during the preliminary budgeting process. Total increase to salary and benefit accounts, not including Charter schools, is $1,743,352.
Changes to the Charter Schools’ expenditure budgets of $660,042, which includes changes to salaries/benefits, supplies and other expenses due to the recalculation of additional allowable and state aid.
Other expenditure adjustments include, in-kind audit services, contracted services – OT/PT, Speech, Nursing, Hearing and Visually impaired, Supplies, and Rental services, total $1,285,086.
This brings the total FY25 anticipated expenditure to $151,510,112.
With these changes to revenues and expenditure, we anticipate an increase in the use of the fund balance of $1,508,908 in FY25, for a total use of fund balance of $6,186,891.
