The Aurora Borealis Charter School Amendment application was reviewed by the Charter School Oversight Committee on January 12, 2026. Earlier today in work session, February 2, 2026 the Board of Education further reviewed the application. It is presented on the agenda this evening for action by the Board. 

Administration's Recommendation: 

District Leadership recommends approval of the Aurora Borealis Charter School amendment to expand its existing program to include 9th and 10th grades. District Leadership will continue to support Aurora Borealis Charter School in curriculum development, including the expansion of honors course offerings, and in ensuring that all graduation requirements are aligned with KPBSD graduation requirements. Systems will be implemented to ensure that student credits transfer seamlessly to KPBSD high schools.
