Feb. 6, 2018 Meeting
A. Call to Order

C. Approval of Notes
The notes from the Jan. 16, 2018 meeting were not approved due to the lack of a quorum.
D. Legislative Update
Mr. Dusek explained and shared information on recent legislation.
The committee discussed the packet information that the board members will take with them to the February AASB Legislative Fly-In. They also discussed topics of conversation for the Fly-In.
Mr. Navarre explained the differences between Representative Gara's bill to increase the BSA by $100 and Representative Seaton's bill to forward fund education.
Mr. Dusek explained Senator Steven's bill SB 287.
Mr. Dusek shared his presentation for the afternoon's joint budget work session with the Borough Assembly.
Mr. Dusek reviewed the fly-in schedule and discussed the planned sessions.
The committee reviewed the legislator appointment schedule for Feb. 12 and 13 at the legislative fly-in.
Ms. Erkeneff shared a legislative priorities flyer that she created for the fly-in packets. She shared some questions that Mr. Dusek, Mr. Jones and she developed for the group to ask legislators.
The committee discussed a way for the fly-in participants to share the information with the rest of the board upon their return. Mr. Dusek suggested the group meet together each night, while in Juneau, to debrief on the day. Ms. Erkeneff noted the importance of following up on requests from the legislators for further information.
Mr. Navarre stated that Senator Lisa Murkowski requested information regarding Net Neutrality
