        Background Information:

        AR 5123 Promotion Acceleration Retention

        Administration recommends a revision to AR 5123 Promotion/Acceleration/Retention to change the retention request deadline from the end of first semester to February 1 of the current school year.  This deadline change is made to accommodate the winter testing window which will allow for more accurate and up to date information regarding student performance.

        The Policy Committee discussed this AR on June 4, 2018.  It was reviewed by the board at a work session earlier in the day and is presented for a first reading and action.
