Background information:

Budgetary information is presented below for both an audio-only remote participation solution as well as a full videoconferencing solution.

Audio-Only Option

The following solution provides for audio-only remote participation.

The proposed configuration below encodes audio from the Assembly Chambers into the existing KPBSD Polycom system for distribution. Remote participation sites can leverage existing Polycom equipment to connect and receive an audio-only stream. This solution has no capability for transmitting video and only allows for two-way audio between connected sites.

Equipment recommended:

JK Audio Innkeeper 1rx Digital Hybrid

$850.25

JK Audio Guest Module 1 – Remote Keypad

$166.25

Shipping est.

$30.17

Total

$1,046.67

Full Video-Conferencing Solution

The following solution provides for full videoconferencing remote participation. In this model, two-way audio and video is available between the Assembly Chambers and remote endpoints, such as the Professional Development rooms in Homer and Seward, both with existing Polycom infrastructure.

Equipment recommended:

Group Series 700 (2-camera solution). Includes initial year maintenance cost.

$21,888.40

Group Series 500 (travel unit for broadcasting remote meetings). Includes initial year of maintenance cost.

$10,119.20

Total

$32,007.60

Estimated annual costs related to technical implementation and licensing:

Personnel (tech attendance at meetings)

$5,378.31

Equipment maintenance

$1,700.00

Total

$7,078.31
