        Background Information:

        On October 1, 2019, Jesse Bjorkman, teacher, was elected to the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly.

        Section 330 of the KPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement states, "The School Board shall grant a leave of absence without pay to any teacher to campaign, or serve, in a public office, not to exceed ten (10) teachers at any time. Unpaid leave shall be granted, not to exceed five (5) days, for a teacher to campaign for a candidate for a public office other than him/herself."

        Mr. Bjorkman is requesting intermittent leave without pay, as needed, to fulfill is responsibilities as a borough assemblyman.
