        Background Information:

During a work session on Sept. 9, 2019, the board discussed the possibility of the district participating in a Reemployment of Retirees under the authorization of SB 185.

In order to participate, the board must first develop a policy and then approve a resolution.  Attached is a draft policy. The draft is based on the Mat-Su School District policy which was approved by the State.

On Oct. 7, the Policy Review Committee discussed the policy and moved it forward to be fast-tracked, i.e. Nov. 4 work session and first reading.

Administration recommends approval of BP 4112.10 Employment of Retired Teachers.
