Background Information:
On 9/28/20 a review of the student count in our brick and mortar schools was done and 6,041 students were either in-person or remote learners. 1,771 students were enrolled in our Connections home-school program. Of the estimated 215 Intensive needs students, only 188 have been verified or in the process of being certified and counted in this estimate.
With these students counts we are looking at a loss of projected foundation funding of ($1,813,855). This is approximately lower by about $547K from our last meeting. This change is mainly due to the Home school count increasing from 1,683 to 1,771.
FY21 Student Count period is September 28 – October 23, 2020. Based on the count during this period, it will determine if the Hold Harmless provision (AS 14.17.410) is activated. Based on the 9/28/20 count we are 21.55% below last years count.
