Background Information:

Marsh & McLennan Agency, our Health Care consultants provided the District with the projected Health Care Rates for FY21 in July of 2020. THe following assumptions were made in determining the projected rates:

  1. Projected Enrollment is based on May 2020 reporting.
  2. Net Claims are based on 0%/70%/30% medical/rx claims weighting and 10%/60%/30% dental/vision claims weighting for 2018/2019/2020, respectively.
  3. 2020/21 Fixed costs are estimated based on 6 months actual 2020 rates and 6 months of projected 2021 rate increases.
  4. Projected rates include cost of $800 annual contributions to HRA or HSA fund.
  5. Variable costs by plan are based on total variable costs, pro-rated based on enrollment.

The projected rates for FY21 are $2,616.27 per employee per month.

At 85%/15% split the district's rate is $2,223.83 per employee per month.

On September 16, the Health Care Program sub committee members met to set the employee rates for FY21. They went with the brokers recommendation and set the rate at $392.44 per employee per month.

At the end of the  FY20 school year, the employee monthly rate was $369.67. This is a monthly increase of $22.77 which is equal to a 6.15% increase for employees. The district increased from a monthly contribution of $2,094.82 to a monthly contribution of $2,223.83. The $129.01 monthly increase is also a 6.15% increase.
