      Background Information:

      Former KPBSD Transportation Supervisor, Rachelle Goniotakis, submitted a grant application to the Volkswagen Diesel Settlement Grant in June 2019. KPBSD ultimately received an award for seven (7) new activity busses from the Alaska Energy Authority. 

      The Activity Bus Bid was released on January 16, 2020, and three Bids were received on February 18, 2020. A copy of the Activity Bus Re-Cap is attached for review. The Bids and specifications were reviewed for compliance and the low bid of $133,050 per bus was accepted from Trailer Craft on February 26, 2020.  Purchase Order #2013431 was issued for seven Thomas Buses on March 5th, 2020.  The bus manufacture and delivery was impacted by COVID and the buses were delivered December 2020.

      We will have one of the new activity busses at the January 11, 2021, Board meeting for review by Board Members.
