Background Information: The attached documents provide historical background information related to the Kachemak-Selo School project, as well as statutory requirements in place. There was previous agreement between KPB and KPBSD on a proposed fall 2020 school facilities bond package. Matching funds for the Kachemak-Selo School Grant were included in the 2020 bond package. When COVID-19 entered the picture, both parties agreed that the fall 2020 facilities bond package had little chance of success, and it was agreed that the school facilities bond package would be moved to the fall of 2021.
In August 2020 the Borough proposed moving the grant funds to DCCED, it is imperative that actions in support of the fall 2021 facilities bond package also proceed in case the DCCED funding redirection action is not successful.
