2017 to 2022 Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Strategic Plan
The process of updating the KPBSD strategic plan began in May of 2016 through our district and board goal setting process. We have conducted multiple opportunities for site councils, staff, and the board to provide input on the overall plan. We are at the point that the overall plan is ready for final board review and approval. In the early fall of 2017, the district administration will provide more detailed goals related to each sub-component for the duration of the plan as a mechanism for full implementation by 2022. This process will allow us to fully implement the Plan, Do, Study, Act improvement cycle that allows for mid-course corrections to fulfill the overall plan intent.
Also, the district administration is continuing its work to support measuring progress toward implementation of the strategic plan through key performance indicators. The development of the KPI's should be set to go live in the fall of 2017 through the tableau dashboard. The district will create more dashboards that include multiple school quality indicators through social emotional indicators, community service, career pathway completion and progress, industry credentialing, workplace and experiential learning, and dual credit indicators.
