Background Information:

On November 1, 2021 the committee reviewed BP 3541.1 School-Related Trips, AR 6153 School-Sponsored Trips and AR 3541.1 School-Related Trips. After further review, Administration is recommending amending BP 3541.1 and AR 6153 to reflect current government regulation which allows educational institutions to use 15 passenger vans that were manufactured after September 1, 2011 which now all meet the safety standards required by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Motor Vehicle Safety, Title 49, United States Code, Chapter 301 and Related Uncodified Provisions.

The BP and AR's are presented today in Board Policy Review.  Exhibits, E3541.1 (a) School Driver Registration Form and E3541.1 (b) Private Vehicle Transport Safety Check have also been edited to reflect the changes in BP 3541.1, AR 3541.1 and AR 6153.  AR 6153 School-Sponsored Trips and AR 3541.1 School-Related Trips are up tonight for a first reading and action.  BP 3541.1 School-Related Trips is up for first reading on tonight's agenda.

To expedite the approval of the policies, AR 6153 School-Sponsored Trips and AR 3541.1 School-Related are on tonight's agenda for a first reading and action and BP 3541.1 School-Related Trips is up for first reading on tonight's agenda.
