Background Information:

On June 6, 2022, the KPBSD BOE approved E Sports. The Kenai Peninsula School Activities Association (KPSAA) held their first meeting of the school year in September where the recommended fee structure was discussed. The language was then formally adopted by KPSAA at their November meeting to add the E Sports fee structure.

Attached please review the High School Handbook change proposal from the KPSAA Executive Board regarding the fee for ESports and update to Appendix A.

High School Handbook Change

1.  Page 18, V. Participation Guidelines, Section D, Item 2.: Update language to formally assign season participation fees for ESports.

     D.  Participation Fees

          2. A fee of $100 per activity shall be charged for cross-country running, cheerleading, ESports (per season) performance dance, and track.

2. Page 41, APPENDIX A.  Form update to include ESports:

1. The following activities require a $100 participation fee: ESports Fall____, Esports Spring ____.

Administration recommends approval of the KPSAA High School Handbook updates.
