C. Approval of Notes
The notes of the Oct. 16, 2017 meeting were approved as printed.
D. Budget Development
Mr. Jones explained how the administration uses the projected enrollment to begin developing the amounts for the upcoming budget year. He explained that the administration will use flat funding for FY19 budget funding planning. Expenditures are 80% staffing and the budget is planned according to staffing formulas. Assuming flat revenues and current expenditures, the deficit will be determined and presented to the Board in January. More detailed numbers are usually presented in March but can be delayed to allow for better accuracy but, an earlier look is usually better.
E. Finance Reports - Utilities and Energy 2017-11-6
Ms. Hayes explained the utilities and energy expense reports. Mr. Soderquist explained costs of telephone services and the variances at different schools.
