Kenai Peninsula Borough School District 2025-2026 Board of Education Goals

The KPBSD Board of Education Goals are intended to support the District and the District Strategic Plan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GOAL 1. Advance the KPBSD Strategic Plan Across All Focus Areas

  • Regularly review and revise Board policies to support the strategic plan.
  • Promote growth in dual enrollment and CTE participation.
  • Improve student proficiency and annual growth in reading, ELA, and mathematics.
  • Review a key student performance area; reading, math, or college and career readiness at each Board meeting to monitor progress and inform decision-making.
  • Support professional development and collaboration

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Goal 2. Develop a Long-Term Fiscal Plan and Advocate for Sustainable Funding

  • Create a multi-year financial plan that aligns with the district’s strategic plan, supports the Board’s goal of increasing student outcomes, and accounts for anticipated revenue trends.
  • Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities across programs, operations, and staffing structures without compromising student learning
  • Proactively engage with local and state elected officials to advocate for predictable, sustainable, and adequate education funding.
  • Involve stakeholders in advocacy efforts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GOAL 3.  Strengthen Community and Staff Engagement

  • Attend legislative, borough, city, and site council meetings.
  • Establish and support stakeholder advisory groups
  • Build meaningful relationships with site councils, tribal governments, and community organizations.
  • Promote volunteerism and parent engagement at the school level.
  • Continue to build partnerships with local businesses and community organizations.
  • Highlight student, teacher, and staff accomplishments through district communications and media outreach.
