Assessment is the method by which we measure student progress. Sound assessment is an essential ingredient in quality instruction. Multiple assessments are necessary to meet multiple needs and will take place in the classroom, in the building, and at the District level. The focus of assessment and how it relates to student achievement is based on student acquisition of knowledge, foundation skills, and development of thinking and problem-solving processes.
