Background Information:
Attached is the administration's recommended revision to AR 5144.1 Suspension and Expulsion. This AR is revised to update board policy as it pertains to school safety and security (especially regarding behavior threat assessment) and as recommended by our attorney at Jermain, Dunnagan and Owens (JDO). In addition, we have updated the timelines for hearing responses and appeals.
AR 5144.1 Suspension and Expulsion is presented for a first reading and action. Administration recommends approval of this AR.
