Background Information:
The safety and well-being of students and staff is the first priority of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. An important part of school safety is the early identification of students who may pose a threat to themselves or others.
Recognizing this need, in the fall of 2018, the school district revised the process for evaluating threats from students. The district contracted with school safety and education consultant, Dr. Linda Kannan to update our process and provide training to staff members are part of the school and district BTA process. The KPBSD Behavior Threat Assessment (BTA) forms and process are based off of the most recent Secret Service Recommendations.
