Background Information:
The Board is required to set the district’s six-year capital plan priorities per AS 14.08.101. The priority set by the board directly affects the scoring of all applications submitted to DEED for state aid funding consideration. This grant program is the primary source of state funding for school capital projects, as the bond reimbursement program remains suspended until 2025 with the passage of HB 106. The grant requires a 35% local match for Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. Work session is to provide opportunity for board input and discussion on projects and priority included in the district 6-year plan. Information included will be; supplemental information provided on last year’s grant-scoring, categories of grants, copy of last three year’s 6-year plans, participating share, School Board Resolution 19-20-3 and previous bond proposal 2020 list.
