      Background Information:

      Alaska School Activities Association (ASAA) changed their language at their April 2021 board meeting. The Kenai Peninsula School Activities Association (KPSAA) held their first meeting of the school year in September where the changes were discussed and language was then formally adopted by KPSAA at their November meeting to bring the High School handbook into compliance with ASAA.

      Attached please review the High School Handbook TAD/Proximity policy change proposal for the following:

      Item A. 1. – 9.

      ASAA (Alaska School Activities Association) recently adopted changes to their TAD policy. In response, the KPSAA board revised the High School Handbook Participation Guidelines (Section V., Item A., 1.-9.) as attached. KPSAA will provide notification to high schools pending Board of Education approval.

      A work session was held today to review the changes.  Administration recommends approval of the KPSAA High School Handbook updates.
