Background Information:
The English Language Arts (ELA) Curriculum Committee met virtually on April, 28 and September 27, 2017 to discuss Board Policy 6141—Curriculum Development and learn how personalized learning influences curriculum development. The ELA Curriculum Committee worked on Oct. 2 and 3, 2017. During these two days, the committee analyzed student assessment data, prioritized Alaska State ELA Standards and began creating a new curriculum document that ensures alignment to the updated KPBSD mission, vision, key performance indicators and personalized learning initiative.
