Background Information: The Board is required to set the district’s six-year capital plan priorities per AS 14.08.101. The priority set by the Board directly affects the scoring of all applications submitted to DEED for state aid funding consideration. Currently the grant program is the primary source of state funding for school capital projects, as the bond reimbursement program was suspended until 2025 with the passage of HB 106. All grants require a 35% local match for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District.
