Attached is BP 3290.1 Art Donation as presented and discussed at the Aug. 19 Policy Review Committee meeting.
The committee requested a legal review of the revision. Borough attorney Patty Burley suggested “removing any language that tried to put the power back onto the donor or the artist. That way the goal of this policy remains intact: once donated, there should be zero expectations. No promises are made that it will be displayed, that it will be cared for and especially no promises are made that it will be returned.” Ms. Burley also suggested the district develop an art donation form in order to ensure that donors are aware of and understand the policy.
The committee recommends removal of the second to the last bullet point.
