Background Information:

Attached is a document created to provide a more consistent approach to replacement of building components.  All too often, personalities, perceptions, and emotion play a greater role in making the decision to replace a building component rather than basing that decision on performance.

This document provides the guidance and standards to building administrators, maintenance personnel, and others making financial decisions on facility maintenance such that a uniform standard is met and taxpayer funding is used appropriately.

It is proposed that this concept and these guidelines be approved for implementation as we approach the next planning and budget cycle.
