Background Information: On April 6, 2026, the school board implemented permanent closure of Seward Middle School.   Declaring the facility surplus will allow for disposition and transfer of the facility to the Kenai Peninsula Borough. The KPBSD administration recommends the board approve the Seward Middle School facility being declared surplus and transferred to the Kenai Peninsula Borough, to allow the district a reduction in facility operational costs.
