    Background Information:

    BP & AR 6186 Independent Study

    The following policies has been reviewed by the instructional team, innovation committee, principals, and other stakeholders. In an effort to bring instructional policies up to date with changes in instructional trends & practices and to address some of the goals set out in the new KPBSD five year strategic plan, we are recommending the following changes as outlined.

    The Policy Review Committee discussed these revisions at their Aug. 6, 2018.  They were reviewed by the board during an Oct. 15, 2018 work session.

    BP & AR 6186 Independent Study were both presented for a first reading on Nov. 5, 2018. An Administrative Recommendation (AR) requires only one reading before board action.  However, administration recommended the BP and AR be dealt with together as handling them separately did not make sense or provide for ease of operations.

    Administration recommends approval of BP & AR 6186 Independent Study.
