        Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Policy BP 5123 addresses the criteria and process for retention/acceleration of any student. For the 2017-18 school year, 12 students were considered for possible acceleration and 62 students were considered for possible retention under the above referenced policies. From 20 different schools: 22 students were retained, while 11 students were accelerated.
