In a collaboration between KPBSD and Hanover Research, we have created a student Social and Emotional survey instrument for students in grades 3-12. This new survey will be introduced in the Fall of 2017 and will be used in place of the Student Gallop Poll that had been used the past 3 years to measure the District's Key Performance Indicator measuring the Social and Emotional Wellness of our students.
The new survey instrument borrows from a combination of the question themes captured in the Student Gallop Poll and the Alaska Association of School Board's School Climate and Connectedness survey. Figure 1.1 below gives a quick summary of the areas the survey instrument will gather information on. The District plans on conducting the survey this fall in grades 3-12 and will share results from this first administration in late fall or early winter 2017.
